Teaching from Popular Culture: Summer Institute for Educators

Join us to learn, explore and get inspired at SAM’s Summer Institute. Hear from local experts, spark new ideas for your classroom and gain resources for your next year of teaching. Incorporating all three SAM sites, this workshop will place a global lens on contemporary culture. Participants will receive free resources, materials and 10 Washington State Clock Hours. How does what we wear describe how we live and who we are? Taking inspiration from the exhibition Future Beauty: 30 Years of Japanese Fashion, we will create wearable fashion that tells the story of our moment in time. Bring your imagination and a desire to find your own personal brand of "beauty." Designed for children ages 5-12 and their caregivers. Online registration required.
