Moholy-Nagy , acrylic, collage, china marker on birch panel, 60 x 48 in.

Harold Hollingsworth

This has been a season of anxiety and celebration, and the work I have constructed really reflects this. I tend to always work with two opposing viewpoints, sometimes on occasion, more. The patterning I work with often is the outward reflection of this, but the surfaces as well this season are much more aggressive and playful all in one. It can be difficult for me as an artist to resolve the pieces and settle in with where they are heading, it keeps things exciting for me to be a bit off balance in the work. These works are a play as always, on things I see on the street, and from the accidental, that often look magically well played, and contrast in a beautiful manner. I hope that the dynamic I have experienced in the last year is visible and I hope it’s exciting for an audience to see reflected outwardly.
