I am concerned with the numerous issues related to climate change—and in particular, in this body of work—sea level rise. I work abstractly, primarily in the media of paint/collage, and bring to this work a background in sculpture, installation and architecture. This current series, Sea Change, focuses on the rapidly increasing displacement of people in coastal cities worldwide that are considered at high risk. I use the population figures from governmental sources for the metropolitan areas and the works are named for the people, their cities, and the year the population number was last updated, i.e., ‘Shanghai, China, 39.4 million in 2015’.
